Being set up and my conditions for such treason

If you’ve been single at any point in your life for a considerable amount of time, then chances are you’ve been set up. There are two types of set ups, if you can think of a third one let me know. You have the agreed upon set up where your friends tell you they want to set you up and you go into it best foot forward. The other one I like to call the ambush set up. You agree to meet your friends somewhere and when you get there the set up is already there and you’re like what the heck is going on or they show up after you and your friends try to play like it’s a coincidence. I hate this because it catches you off guard and you’re not in control of the first impression. I was recently the victim of an ambush set up with disastrous results. A friend called and asked to hang out and when I get there I know right away this is a set up just by his stupid shit eating grin he had. This girl could not have been more wrong for me, the only thing we had in common was being single. Turns out this girl is like the permanent third wheel to him and his girlfriend and he wanted me to isolate her. Why couldn’t he just tell me that from the start? I’ll jump on the grenade for a friend if I need to.

With that being said friends, if you feel the need to do a set up for me please consider the following:

Let me know and tell me why you think we should be set up and if I say no respect that.

If you’re going to ambush me please do your due diligence when “mating” us together.

Things I want in a “partner” include being 2nd amendment friendly, not a tree hugging liberal, has values and class but isn’t so uptight she can’t cut loose every once in a while, no substance abuse problems except maybe coffee, loves music and going to concerts, not a couch potato since I like to hike, mtn bike and camp, has no problem with kids and no problem with possibly never having kids of her own. If you think this person would make me a better person I am game but if you don’t have that confidence don’t bother.
